Having a Thankful Heart!!!

And Jesus told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. Luke 18:1

It’s as we keep an ongoing conversation with our heavenly Father, that we produce a thankful heart towards life. Most people, let’s be specific most Christians go through life without always praying and then blame God for our poor attitude towards life and the many challenges it offers us to believe in our heavenly Father.

Jesus in Luke said in effect that we ought to always be found praying, which will assure that we will not lose heart as we face the challenges of life. It’s amazing how we feel that we can offer up to God a quick prayer, all of five minutes and all about what we feel we need in our life for today. Our heavenly Father want to lead and guide us through the obstacles of life as only He can, since he’s the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.
David in Psalms 61:1-8 had a lot to say to us about the attitude of prayer, Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer, from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I, for You Father have been my Refuge, a Strong Tower against the enemy.
I believe today that we need to take heed to the life-style of the saints of old and learn from them how they were successful even against great odds. Today for the most part we as Christian don’t abide in our Father’s tabernacle; we don’t trust under his mighty wings, we don’t have the heritage of fearing our Father’s Name.
Today as you go through out the day check the direction of your conversation with God and compare it with David as he prayed for the God’s provision for the King. Listen to David’s heart which is after his Father’s heart. David Prolong the life of the King, may his years endure all generations, may he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him.
I wonder how many pray that way for our President? I don’t know for sure if David was praying that prayer over King Saul, a man whose heart was set on killing him. But what if it was, should we not have the same faith in our heavenly Father to watch over us. My faith and trust is in the God of all creation not in any man, but if I hope to finish well I must obey the word of God,
I must pray for those that are in offices of authority as taught in I Timothy 2:1-3. May we be found faithful. Let’s look at the end of Psalms 61; Father I will forever sing praises to your Name, as I perform my vows day after day. May our heavenly Father bless each of us with an attitude of gratitude toward His wonderful plans for our lives.
